Borris-Ileigh forward Conor Kenny has paid tribute to his manager Johnny Kelly ahead of the All-Ireland club SHC final.

The Tipperary champions won their first county title in 33 years late last year and have now gone on to add a Munster title to their collection and are just 60 minutes away from winning the club All-Ireland title.

Kenny feels that Kelly has played a massive part in their success as the Galway native plans for Ballyhale Shamrocks’ downfall.

“Johnny’s experience will be a huge help because none of us have played in an All-Ireland final and Ballyhale will have the trump card on us in that regard,” Kenny told the Tipperary Star.

“They know the route and the feel of it, whereas not many of our lads have played in Croke Park. At the end of the day it is a hurling game, on a hurling field. I know it’s different surrounds and all that, but all we want to do is perform. There is no point going up there to Croke Park and not performing. So we will just knuckle down now and do our homework.”
