David Power during his stint as Tipperary U20 football manager

David Power was last night ratified as Tipperary’s new senior football manager.

The 2011 All-Ireland winning minor manager got the green light to replace Liam Kearns from club delegates at a county meeting in Thurles.

His management team includes Munster Club winning Clonmel Commercials manager Charlie McGeever and Michael McGeehin, who was coach during Peter Creedon’s spell at the helm.

Former Dublin All-Star full-back Paddy Christie will also have a role to play in Power’s backroom set-up along with ex-Clare goalkeeper Joe Hayes.

Kilsheelan-Kilcash clubman Power managed the Wexford senior footballers in 2015 and ’16.
