Following last year’s early championship exit, Liam Sheedy is pleased that Tipperary will still be hurling in July this year.
The Premier County’s third straight Munster SHC win at Clare’s expense yesterday has guaranteed them a place in the All-Ireland series, while a place in the provincial final is also all but assured.
"I'm fully aware of how competitive this championship is. It's very pleasing to win here in what is a difficult place to play in,” he told RTÉ after Tipp’s surprisingly comfortable victory in Ennis.
"We didn't find ourselves in the top three last year and our goal was to get into that top three. People were laughing at me. I'm serious. I'm just delighted that we will be still be hurling in July. That wasn't the case last year."Tweet
