The plight of former Cork footballer Kieran O'Connor has captured the public's imagination in recent days.

Kieran is battling cancer for the third time in 18 months and both Graham Canty and Donal Og Cusack have appealed to the GAA family to support him.

The response from the wider GAA community has been phenomenal with a GoFundMe page set up on Friday having already raised over €215,000.

The goal is to raise €250,000 to support the 39-year-old Aghada clubman and his family with current living and future medical expenses to beat Ewing's Sarcoma Cancer, including possible travel abroad for additional medical expertise, and we would appeal to all our readers to donate whatever you can and ensure that goal is reached.

Donations to help support Kieran and his family can be made here: https://www.gofundme.com/f/friends-of-kieran
