Thurles Sarsfields remain on course for a five-in-a-row of Dan Breen Cups after Ronan Maher's injury-time goal handed them a dramatic 2-14 to 1-16 victory over Kilruane MacDonagh's in the second of today's Tipperary SHC quarter-final at MacDonagh Park in Nenagh today.

Kilruane looked to have one foot in the semi-final when Brian O'Meara's 39th minute goal was followed by a Conor Cleary point to leave them 1-13 to 0-9 in front, but Maher brought the champions back into it with his first goal 10 minutes from the end before adding a second at the death to break Kilruane hearts.

With U21 star Cian Darcy scoring four points off Mickey Cahill, Kilruane had taken a 0-10 to 0-7 lead into the interval.

Toomevara are also through to the last four after surviving a late scare from 14-man Drom & Inch in the day's first quarter-final.

Quick-fire goals from Jack Delaney and Mark McCarthy helped the winners to a 2-8 to 0-7 half-time lead and Drom & Inch looked a beaten docket when Michael Campion was sent off just after the restart. 

But nine points from Seamus Callanan helped to revive their challenge. They had reduced the deficit to four points when Delaney scored his second goal in the 41st minute to restore the Greyhounds' seven-point advantage. However, Drom & Inch kept plugging away and a late goal from David Collins left only a point between the sides, 3-15 to 1-20, at the final whistle.

Kiladangan and Clonoulty/Rossmore, and Nenagh Eire Og and Loughmore/Castleiney meet in another quarter-final double-header in Dolla tomorrow.
