The Tipperary CCC have announced that the senior hurling championship quarterfinals have been brought forward by one week.
Originally, the quarterfinals of the SHC were pencilled in for the weekend of October 7th, but now they will be played on the weekend of September 30th.
The move to switch the games has come as a surprise to many as there are a backlog of games to be played before the quarterfinals.
A three-way play off is needed between Thurles Sarsfields, Drom & Inch and Upperchurch-Drombane to decide which two of them advance to the knockout stages.
The only side qualified for a preliminary quarterfinal are South champions Killenaule. A hectic few weeks are in store for a number of clubs.
