The Banner roar drove Duggan and Clare on against Tipp

Clare's Peter Duggan holds up Padraic Maher of Tipperary

The supporters were Clare's 16th man against Tipperary today, according to match winner Peter Duggan.

Two injury-time Duggan points sent the Premier County packing from this year's Liam MacCarthy Cup race and, afterwards, the half-forward - who finished the contest with 0-15 to his name - told RTE Sport: "It took us a while to get going.

"At a good few stages of the game Tipp were well on top of us. It just shows the heart that's in this team that we kept coming back.

"We dug deep. It's brilliant to get a result. It's the first time in a long time we got a result down below in Tipp. Clare haven't travelled greatly over the last few years, since 2013.

"The crowd that came out here today, they really helped. Hearing the Banner roar for the first time in a long time really helped us drive on in this game."
