Tipperary's Brendan Maher feels that they owe their supporters a performance in Sunday's Munster SHC round robin clash against Clare at Semple Stadium.

The Premier County need a win to keep their hopes of progressing to the All-Ireland SHC knockout stages alive following two draws and a defeat in the provincial campaign so far.

To say they have rode their luck in the last two games would be an understatement that not even the most die-hard Tipp supporters could disagree with.

Maher knows that nothing only a top performance will help them against Clare this weekend and he feels that they must deliver on front of the home supporters.

"We are disappointed with the overall performance and we want to get in front of our home crowd next Sunday and deliver a win," Maher told the Tipperary Star.

"So, we are looking forward to having a big crowd there and giving them something to cheer about."
