Well we definitely have a better chance than Galway, Leitrim or Roscommon!!!Obviously we will be serously up against it playing one of the top 4 teams in the country.....I think the game / winning margin hinges on our ability to contain O Shea and O Connor which I'm sure we'll have a game plan for. Mayo's odds of 1/12 are about right while ours could be a little longer than 13/2 :(

My head says no but my heart says yes. Realistically we need them to have a serious serious off day and us to have the game of our lives in fairness. With marren and Kelly you always have a chance. (please god)

Is it expected that it will be the same starting 15?

I should hope so garavogue, maybe Curran in for Davey although on his debut im sure he was nervous so he didn't do too bad. Same team other than that anyway sher who could ya drop after that diplay? Gilmartin in either for an extra big man around the middle?

I'd keep same team bar Davey. I'm torn between gilmartin and Curran. Curran is a like for like replacement but I think he offers more than Davey although if he starts we have very little off the bench. Gilmartin is a badly needed option at wing forward for our kick outs. Can't see mayo letting us go short every kick out so we need a man around the middle to aim for and hes the best at fielding a ball that we have.
I'll be going in hope more so than optimism but it's football and anyone can beat anyone on any given day!

Mayo imo are nowhere near as good as Dublin, hence we have a much better chance then Westmeath had, also considering Mayo aren't playing in their own back garden!!

We all know that the tortoise beat the hare in that famous race long ago but its unlikely that Aiden O'Shea and Cillian O'Connor will take a nap during the game.
What is important is that Sligo supporters celebrate the magnificent achievement of having minors and seniors playing in the finals. When demographics are factored into the equation it is very clear that the smaller counties have very few opportunities to progress in the All-Ireland competitions. Two facts that will bear this out, for every senior player Sligo can pick from ,Mayo have two, and in Minor Galway have three for our one. These things should be borne in mind when complaining about our teams. On this occasion I for one will enjoy the day regardless of the results.

The question is not 'Can we win it?' but 'How much will we win by?' I'd say by around 20 to 25 points win for Sligo.

Maggiepie why so pessimistic? Accepting and making excuses for a defeat before a jersey is even put on! I don't know is it just the excitement of a final getting to me but I'm really going to be traveling with a Sligo double in my mind, I no the minors have it in them and im just praying we hit the ground running in the senior and catch mayo on the hop!

You don't necessarily have to be worried because you are praying my friend, I know the boys have the performance in them to get across the line i'm just praying they show that on sunday. Your talking about being happy to be there and its already an achievement which I agree but as the old saying goes no one ever remembers 2nd place!
