U-13

Our U-13 team put in another stellar display to capture the Feile title last Sunday morning. A 13-13 to 2-4 defeat of old rivals Easkey ensured they will represent Sligo at Feile Peil na nOg next summer. The lads won all of their five games in the competition, and deserve huge congratulations on their displays throughout. Congratulations also to the management team of Paul Bourke, Brian Coleman, John Paul Carden and Eamon Harnett. The squad is as follows: Ethan Carden, Matthew Foley, Rory Harte, Kenneth Mulrooney, Tommy Quinn, Evan Walsh, Brian Duffy, Josh Battle, Jordan Stevens, Darragh Tuffy, Oisin Arthur, Michael Tuffy, Joseph Martin, Lee Stevens, Oisin Finnerty, Lorcan Gregory, Oisin Hannon. Well done to everyone involved. We extend our thanks to Milo and Trish Tuffy for providing refreshments for the team afterwards.

Minor

The Minor A Championship final between Enniscrone-Easkey and Owenmore Gaels takes place next Sunday afternoon at Markievicz Park from 1pm. The team have performed extremely well to reach the decider and a big support would be appreciated for the showdown next Sunday. It is 36 years since a Minor title came to west Sligo so the lads are on the cusp of creating a small bit of history. Best wishes to everyone involved.

U-21

The Enniscrone-Easkey U-21 side had a good 4-15 to 1-11 win over Coolaney/Mullinabreena in their opening round fixture in the A Championship at Quigabar last Sunday. Details of the next round will be made available in due course.

Surf and Turf

The annual Surf and Turf run is back again for 2016 on Saturday, October 29th (bank holiday weekend). This event, over five kilometres, is fast becoming a staple of the autumnal calendar across the west Sligo and north Mayo areas and we look forward to another fantastic day again this year filled with obstacles, bog and plenty of fun! You can find the event on Facebook (Enniscrone Surf and Turf Run) and Twitter (@surfturf2016). Entry is €20 for adults and €10 for U-16s, with every competitor receiving a free beanie after the race. Registration takes place on the morning of the event, with the starting gun sounded at 12 noon. We are looking forward to another great event!

Eoghan Rua

Commiserations to the Eoghan Rua Senior team on their loss to Padraig Pearses in the semi-final of the Connacht Intermediate Championship last Sunday.

County scene

Well done to Eoin Hallinan and the Sligo U-16s on their 3-9 to 0-10 win over Longford last Saturday. Eoin played at centre half back for the second week running.

Blotto

There was no winner of last weekend's blotto draw. The draw continues every Saturday night and your continued support is greatly appreciated.
