Enniscrone/Kilglass GAA notes

April 25, 2016

Intermediate

Last Saturday evening's trip to St John's proved to be a fruitless one for our intermediate team with the Carraroe side claiming a 1-20 to 1-6 win. Without some regulars, our lads never got going and fell to a disappointing defeat. Everyone involved will look for improvement ahead of next Saturday's meeting with Owenmore Gaels at Quigabar. That game has a 7pm throw-in time. Best of luck to everyone involved. Please support.

Minor

A depleted minor team went down to a two-point defeat away to St Michael's last Friday evening. This was not as bad a display as the result would suggest, but the absence of a number of players made it a difficult task to secure a result. They will hope to bounce back when they play St John's on May 6th.

U-16

The U-16 team will look to maintain their 100pc record when they play Calry/St Joseph's on Monday evening (April 25th) at 7pm in Hazelwood.

U-14

An understrength U-14 team went down to a heavy defeat against Tourlestrane last week. They will hope for improvement when they host St Farnan's on May 5th in the next round.

U-12

The U-12 boys host Owenmore Gaels on Tuesday evening (April 26th) at 7pm.

U-6/U-8/U-10

Our youngest boys and girls had an eventful week with the U-8s and U-10s enjoying a good workout against Easkey last Wednesday evening and the U-6s training in Quigabar. Everyone is enjoying themselves and showing great improvement every week. Training and matches continue every Wednesday evening.

Club meeting

A very important club meeting takes place next Thursday (April 28th) at 9pm in Sheridan's, Kilglass. This meeting is in regard to our prospective indoor astro-turf facility, where a final decision will be made on the proposal. All club members are asked to attend as this is a meeting which will impact on the club's long-term plans. Members are reminded that in the event of a vote, only paid-up members for 2016 will be eligible to cast a vote.

Membership

Anyone who has yet to register for membership for the year should do so as soon as possible by getting in touch with the relevant team manager or any committee member. All players must be registered for insurance and administrative purposes and non-players must have membership in order to be involved at any level within the club.

Connacht Junior Championship

The Connacht Junior Championship meeting between Sligo and Mayo has been fixed for Quigabar for Wednesday, May 4th at 7.30pm.

Blotto

There was no winner of last Saturday's blotto draw. The jackpot for next week is €3300. Your continued support is greatly appreciated.
