Enniscrone/Kilglass GAA notes

February 01, 2016

AGM
Our AGM was held last Friday evening in the Diamond Coast Hotel, with a good crowd in attendance.
The meeting heard comprehensive reports from Chair Declan Rouse and Secretary Brendan Murray, who outlined the clubs activities in the past year.
Outgoing treasurer, Joe Cawley, have his final report to the AGM on the clubs finances. This was Joe's last AGM as Treasurer, and his work has been of the highest standard over the past three years. He was widely commended for his diligence to his role, both as Treasurer and Chairman, over the past seven years. We wish his replacement, Eugene Nelson, all the best in his new position.
Other committee changes included Breda Sheridan and Clair Beglin Duffy being appointed as joint Assistant Treasurer, John Paul Carden assuming the role of Coaching Coordinator and Martin McHale coming on board as Schools Coordinator and Children's Officer.
In other news, plans for our exciting indoor astro-turf facility and auxiliary facilities will be finalised in the coming weeks, with a special club meeting to make a final decision on the project to be held shortly.
The club extends their sympathies to anyone bereaved in 2015.
Thanks to everyone for their efforts over the past year, and hopefully 2016 will be a successful one for Enniscrone/Kilglass.

Dinner Dance
GAA President Aogan O'Fearghail will be the guest of honour at our club dinner dance on Friday, February 12th at the Diamond Coast Hotel, Enniscrone. It promises to be a wonderful night, where we will make presentations to our U16 county title-winning side of 2015, as well as remembering the success of our U21 team of 1990 who won that year's 'A' Championship title. Also on the night we'll have the usual individual awards, so it promises to be another great night. Tickets are €25 (€15 for U16s) and are available in Queenan's Checkout, Sheridan's and Hilltop. Alternatively, you can also get your ticket from any committee member. They're on sale now - don't miss out as numbers are limited!
Blotto
The blotto draw continues every Saturday night locally. Your continued support is greatly appreciated.
Mattie Carden Memorial Run
The annual Mattie Carden Memorial 10k and 5k run/walk is taking place again this year on Saturday, March 5th in Enniscrone. The event is always well supported and all proceeds go towards the Irish Kidney Foundation. For further details, head to the event's Facebook page. Best of luck to the Carden family in organising the event.
