Drumcliffe Rosses Point GAA Club Notes

July 27, 2015

Our ladies Intermediate club championship group match against Owenmore Gaels was postponed last Sunday to allow the county side prepare for this Saturday's TG4 All-Ireland football qualifier v Roscommon in Ballinamore. Throw-in is at 3:45pm. Best of luck to club players Rachel Monaghan and Orla McGowan in that game.

Commiserations to Sean Power, Cian Lally and the Sligo minor team in last week's Connacht minor football final replay. Galway proved too hot to handle in Tuam but the summer is still alive as Aidan Rooney's side now prepare to face Kerry in the All-Ireland minor quarter-final this weekend.

We wish Neil Ewing and Sligo senior men's team every success against Tyrone in Saturday's All-Ireland football qualifier at Croke Park. The match is live on OceanFM and Sky from 4pm.

Well done to all the participants at last week's Kellogg's Cúl Camp in Oxfield. Particular thanks go to the coaches to led a memorable five-day programme for all our young footballers and hurlers.

Our U12 hurlers finished off an impressive campaign winning all of their matches with a win away to Tubbercurry last week. The result means we top the group and now play Naomh Eoin in the A final at Markievicz Park August 21st.

Good luck to the boys U12 footballers who play St Molaise Gaels in the D league final this Wednesday evening at Markievicz Park. Throw-in: 6:15pm.

Sligo GAA's Healthy Club Day takes place this Friday evening at Eastern Harps GAA Club at 6 to 8:30pm. There'll be information stands and a series of talks. The event should provide clubs with useful information on a variety of topics, ranging from healthy eating to mental fitness and minding your mental health. All are welcome.
