Today's Connacht MFC quarter-final between Sligo and Leitrim in Carrick-on-Shannon backed up the theory that goals win games.

Patrick O'Connor (2), Sean Carrabine and Rian Kennedy raised green flags to seal a semi-final berth for the Yeats County.

Carrabine and O'Connor netted in the first-half to give the visitors a 2-5 to 0-6 lead at the halfway stage.

The hosts rallied in the second-half but late goals from O'Connor and Kennedy killed off their challenge.

Eddie McGuinness' charges will now face Roscommon in the last four in Hyde Park on Friday, July 3rd (7.30pm).
