Sligo v Roscommon:

Congratulations to the Sligo team and most of all, club man Kevin McDonnell on a splendid four point victory over Roscommon in Markievicz Park on Saturday evening last.

A strong workmanlike ethic and a mean defence were the foundation of which was a huge win for the Yeats men. Kevin was an integral part of this and was named at full back in the "gaa.ie team of the week" as a reward of his efforts.
Adrian Marren did most of the scoring for Sligo with a goal and seven points but this really was a terriffic team display.

Sligo and Kevin will now face the might of Mayo in the Connacht final on Sunday the 19th of July with a venue yet to be confirmed.
We would like to express our pride at having Kevin represent his family and the club so well and wish him and the rest of the Sligo team all the best going forward for the year.

Micheal Cawley 7's Tournament:
The Micheal Cawley Sligo 7's will take place at St. Brendan's Park in Corballa on Saturday July 4th. Micheal was heavily involved in Ladies GAA in Sligo and his beloved Eoghan Rua and Castleconnor. The Eoghan Rua ladies would love to hear from anyone who would be willing to volunteer on the day, be it on the pitch, as a steward or in the kitchen. Refreshments will be available on the day and anyone that would like to bake a cake or make some treats are more than welcome. All donations on the day will be donated to Croí - a wonderful cause. Also on the day we will be reeling back the years!! There will be one or two teams in the competition from a few years back that Micheal managed participating in the tournament! The "old school" Castleconnor jerseys will be washed and ready for them! We hope to see everyone within Sligo GAA circles, and all the local and participating clubs out to support this event that Micheal will be proud of.
