UCC 0-13
IT Sligo 0-8

Despite having to line out minus the services of Paul Geaney, holders and hosts UCC are safely through to Sigerson Cup finals weekend.

The Kerry star was a late withdrawal from the UCC line-up but his team-mates coped admirably in his absence as they finished with five points to spare over the visitors at the Mardyke.

After being handed a reprieve by the Central Appeals Committee during the week, IT Sligo were first off the mark through James Shaughnessy in the 2nd minute but Luke Connolly squared matters with a converted free shortly after.

The sides were level on 0-4 apiece after 20 minutes but the last 10 minutes of the opening period belonged to Billy Morgan's charges as they hit three points without reply to go in at the break with a 0-7 to 0-4 advantage.

Martin McHugh's side reduced the deficit when raising a white flag shortly after the resumption but they played second fiddle throughout the second-half and late points from Connolly and Conor Cox wrapped up the win for the team in red and black.

The hosts' reward is a last four clash with IT Carlow on Friday week while DCU and UCD will face off in the other semi-final.
