IT Sligo have been re-instated into the Sigerson Cup.

The Yeats County college were thrown out of the competition last week after being found guilty by the GAA's Higher Education Hearings Committee of fielding an ineligible player, Student's Union President Stephen Doak, in their 1-9 to 0-8 extra-time victory over Queens.

But the Martin McHugh coached team appealed that decision to the GAA Central Appeals Committee which ruled in their favour last night.

They were successful on the basis that the rule not allowing Sabbatical Officers to play had been omitted from the current rulebook.

IT Sligo will now play holders UCC in the Mardyke this Friday (2pm).
