Galway twins Cathal and Patrick Sweeney make our HS football team of the week ...
1. Ken O'Halloran (Cork)
The Cork netminder auditioned for an outfield role with a late run into Monaghan's half but performed his primary functions well.
2. Alan Byrne (Wicklow)
Wicklow came from nine points down to claim the Division 4 spoils at the expense of visitors Leitrim and Byrne, along with fellow defender Ross O'Brien, gave a solid display.
3. Patrick Reilly (Louth)
The Wee County's full-back played a prominent role in holding Clare scoreless for the closing 27 minutes of their Division 3 clash in Drogheda.
4. Cathal Sweeney (Galway)
Corner-back Cathal and his twin brother Patrick were two of the stars of Galway's hard-earned minimum margin victory over hosts Westmeath in Mulligar.
5. Damien O'Reilly (Cavan)
The Breffni centre-back made the scoresheet with two points as Terry Hyland's charges scored a five-point victory in Portlaoise on Saturday evening.
6. John Small (Dublin)
The Dubs gained a small measure of revenge for last year's All-Ireland semi-final defeat and newcomer Small continues to catch the eye in the pivotal number six jersey.
7. Diarmuid Masterson (Longford)
Longford held on for a one-point home victory against visitors Antrim in Division 4 and Masterson rarely put a foot wrong in their half-back line.
8. Mark Collins (Cork)
Colm O'Neill stole the headlines in Castleblayney but Collins was also a central figure as the Rebel County continued their winning ways.
9. Steven O'Brien (Tipperary)
Having lost their opening round clash against Armagh in somewhat controversial circumstances, Peter Creedon's Tipperary bounced back with a 12-point defeat of neighbours Limerick.
10. Darren McCurry (Tyrone)
The diminutive Tyrone forward caused all sorts of problems for the Mayo defence and chipped in with four points (two from frees) as Mickey Harte's men proved their critics wrong.
11. Bryan Sheehan (Kerry)
Sheehan's accuracy from placed balls is a potent weapon in the Kerry arsenal and he contributed seven points to his side's final tally of 1-17.
12. Andrew Tormey (Meath)
The hard-working half-forward chipped in with four valuable points for Meath as they inflicted a two-point loss on neighbours Kildare in Pairc Tailteann.
13. Colm O'Neill (Cork)
O'Neill struggled to shake off the close attentions of Monaghan's Ryan Wylie early on but his personal haul of 2-6 proved to be the difference between the sides at the final whistle.
14. Paul Geaney (Kerry)
With all the talk about the return of Tommy Walsh to the Kerry line-up, Geaney reminded Kingdom followers what he is capable of with a return of 1-5, all from play, against Derry.
15. Patrick Sweeney (Galway)
Galway go into the three-week break with four points in the bag thanks to the efforts of Sweeney who top-scored with 1-5 against Westmeath.
