Juniors seek All-Ireland final spot

August 06, 2014
Sligo junior footballers will be aiming to reach the All-Ireland final when they take on Kerry in the penultimate stage this weekend.

This is a repeat of the 2010 All-Ireland final, which Sligo won under the guidance of Kevin Walsh, but they face a very tough test this weekend.

Their cause has not been helped by the fact that they have lost a number of players since their Connacht final win and manager Pat Flanagan admitted to the Sligo Champion that they are not sure how they will perform.

"Yes, it's a strange situation in many ways, but that is the reality. We'll have to sit down to see who is available to us," said Flanagan.

"Obviously, we want to win. Every competition deserves to be given its own focus and respect and we will do that. It would be great to get to the Junior All-Ireland final."
