Sligo GAA announce Day at the Races

Sligo GAA race day on August 19th at the Cleveragh Racecourse.
The fund raising committee are delighted to have joined up with Sligo Races to present a Day at the Races on the fantastic Cleveragh Racecourse.
The seven race card will feature a mix of flat and National Hunt races with top jockeys from across Ireland in attendance for what promises to be an excellent evening meeting.
County Chairman, Joe Taaffe welcomed a large attendance to the Press launch and complimented the Commercial team for their efforts in organising the event.
He again thanked all those who supported the recent Club Sligo fund raising draw and said the forthcoming event will be a great Social occasion for the GAA in Sligo and he looked forward to all Gaels coming along to enjoy this inaugural event.
Joe went on to thank Kieran O'Connor, Chairman Sligo Race course committee and Brian Kennedy and his team for their kind support and assistance in organising the event.
Commercial team Chairman, Peter Greene then went on to outline the highlights of a packed programme of attractions to those present.

As an added incentive for Clubs, Corporates or Businesses the organising committee are offering Groups of 10 or more a discounted ticket at €25 per head.Group tickets can be purchased by contacting Eamonn McMunn, GAA Administrator Sligo GAA on 087 052 4574.
Patrons will also have an opportunity to join in the fun by by dressing up in the Black & White colours of the county and participating in the Black and White theme of the day.

And on hand to present the winners with their Prizes will be RTE GAA personality - Marty Morrissey.
Club Sligo are also arranging a Patrons Marquee for the day to enable their supporters mix and mingle during the Races.
Tickets will go on sale next week through the Clubs and through a team of volunteers across the county in an effort to make this another major event in the Sligo GAA calendar.
