Sligo receive €300k funding boost

The €3m project has made significant progress in the past 6 months.
Sligo GAA are set to proceed with the second phase of their Centre of Excellence after they received €300,000 from the Sports Capital Programme.

The news of the grant is a major boost to the county as they look to move on in the development of the centre of excellence at Scarden.

Work on dressingrooms and offices is set to be begin by the end of year and county board chairman Joe Taaffe admitted to the Sligo Champion that he was delighted with the news.

"We're delighted with the funding," said Taaffe. In total Sligo sports clubs received over €1 million in grants.
