Naomh Eoin manager John Doyle admits defeat to Galway champions Michael Breathnachs was disappointing, but added there was plenty of positives going forward.

The Sligo champions' run in the provincial campaign was halted at the final stage by a superior Galway side.

Doyle stressed to the Sligo Champion that the defeat was disappointing but added that there was plenty of positives to take from the year.

“Look, we are in a good place as a club, there are more lads coming through and just take a look around, the amount of minors that started there,” said Doyle.

“These are 17, 18 year olds  starting in a Connacht senior final you know. We wanted to win our first county title and every game after that was going to be a bonus. The lads all know what this is about and I think they’ll be back better and stronger next year.”
