A year after winning the intermediate championship, Sligo were crowned New York senior football champions following a 0-16 to 2-5 victory over Donegal at Gaelic Park last night.

Vinny Cadden was superb in goals as the Yeats County prevailed by four points. Cadden was beaten twice by Paudie Clifford - older brother of Kerry star David - either side of half-time, but he prevented several other goals.

Meanwhile, Tyrone's Mark Bradley and Dublin's Shane Carthy were to the fore as Donegal Boston defeated Young Irelanders Philadelphia in the North American senior championship decider, 3-22 to 5-12.
