Experienced London forward Mark Gottsche knows that the Exiles will have to be at their best to get past the challenge of Sligo in Sunday's Connacht SFC opener.
The sides clash at Ruislip this weekend and there has been a lot of talk that London could cause an upset on this occasion. In recent years, they have pushed teams all the way, and defeated Sligo in the 2013 provincial campaign.
However, Gottsche is not getting swept away in the hype and he acknowledges the fact that Sligo have some excellent players in their ranks and despite the loss of Mark Breheny through retirement, the Dublin native feels that they are still a force to be reckoned with.
"I know Sligo have performed well in the under-21 championship in Connacht in the last couple of years, and they have got a good few players out of that," Gottsche told the Irish Post.
"With young players, they don't really have any fear. So that makes them dangerous on the day. They are all very confident in their own ability. They'll have plenty of players that need watching and it will be a tough challenge for us on the day.
"Adrian Marren is a fantastic corner forward. He has been a top player for Sligo for nearly ten years now. Even into his 30s, he's still very dangerous on his day."
