Three provincial club football finals down for decision

November 26, 2016

Kilcoo's Aidan Branagan with Brendan Rogers of Slaughtneil and the Ulster Club SFC Cup

Tomorrow is a huge day in the club football championship with finals taking place in Ulster, Munster and Connacht as well as semi-finals in Leinster.

2014 winners and Ulster club hurling kingpins Slaughtneil and five-in-a-row Down champions Kilcoo will contest the Ulster final at the Athletic Grounds, while Dr Crokes will do battle with The Nire for Munster honours in Mallow. The game of the weekend is arguably the meeting of Corofin and St. Brigid's in Carrick-on-Shannon. 2015 All-Ireland champions Corofin will be hell-bent on avenging their 2006 and 2011 final losses to the 2013 Andy Merrigan Cup winners.

In Leinster, the meeting of Mullinalaghta and St. Vincent's at Glennon Brothers Pearse Park is a real David versus Goliath affair, with perennial challengers Rhode and first-time Louth champions Sean O'Mahony's facing off in the other semi-final in Drogheda.
