Former Mayo manager James Horan says he won't be putting his name forward for the vacant Roscommon position.
Roscommon county board confirmed yesterday that the senior football manager's position is now 'open' following the departure of Fergal O'Donnell, although fellow joint-manager Kevin McStay looks to be a shoo-in for the post.
Speaking to Independent.ie this morning, Horan - a four-time Connacht SFC winner with his native Mayo - said he wouldn't be applying for the job.
"No, no, it wouldn't be for me. Not at the moment," he said.
"There is a good potential young team there. It was surprising to see the Roscommon guys going, O'Donnell and the selectors, that is unusual that they would all leave in one year."
The Ballintubber clubman had also been linked with the Cavan managerial position following Terry Hyland's departure at the beginning of last month, outlining that the job was "attractive" but not suitable given the logistics.
