Roscommon wing back David Murray pointed to the strength of their bench as one of the reasons for their comeback against Sligo last weekend.

Eight points down at the break, it looked as if the Rossies were heading out of this year's Connacht SFC, but a sterling second half saw them cruise to victory by full time.

And Murray told the Roscommon Herald that all the subs introduced made a telling contribution to the win.

"We knew we had to tidy up a few things but we never lost hope or confidence. The lads who came off the bench did well," said Murray.

"The lads on the bench are putting pressure on the lads who are starting to perform to the best of their ability.

"It's great to be in a Connacht final but our only focus up to now has been Sligo."
