November 08, 2015

Castlebar Mitchels Richie Feeney. INPHO

Castlebar Mitchels 3-8
Clann na nGael 0-13

Castlebar Mitchels will contest their second Connacht Club SFC final in three years after overcoming Clann na nGael in Hyde Park today.

First-half goals from Richie Feeney, Barry Moran and Danny Kirby laid the foundations for the Mayo side's eight point victory.

Despite the best efforts of Donie Shine, who kicked nine points, Clann na nGael were always playing catch up after conceding two of those goals in the opening four minutes.

Jamie Fahy got the hosts off the mark in the 7th minute but they trailed by 0-8 to 3-3 at the interval.

Mitchels successfully kept them at bay after the resumption and they now switch their attention to a final showdown with holders Corofin who defeated St Mary's of Sligo by 4-14 to 2-6.
