Shannon Gaels Club Notes

Kilmore/Shannon Gaels U16s played their first game of the championship on Friday evening last against Castlerea.  The teams were evenly matched in the first half but Castlerea were the stronger team in the second half and came out winners.

The Junior A team played neighbours Ballinameen in the championship on Saturday evening. Playing with a strong breeze the Gaels had a 4 point lead at half time. This was gradually reduced during the second half and Ballinameen finished strongly scoring 1 - 2 in the closing minutes to win the match by 4 points. The panel was C Sweeney, M Mulvey, O Flanagan, D Horan, S McDonnell, F Sweeney, S O'Dowd, N Leydon, N McDermott, C Lynch, M Bourke, L O'Dowd, M Murtagh, C Leydon, M McDermott, K Lynch, D Marron, N Lynch, K Loftus, O Viluckis, J Beirne, D Bell, D Conlon, F Finnerty.

There was no winner of the lotto jackpot, nos drawn 7,17,21 &28.  Consolation prizes of 20 euro Katherine O'Dowd Killumod, Gerry Golden Knocknarush, B&A Leydon Boyle Rd, Kay McGwyne c/o Patricia Beirne, Amy McManus Macnadilla.  Next draw takes place in Thatch on Saturday 23rd May.  Jackpot 3,200.

Congratulations to Elaine McDermott, Caoimhe o Dowd and the Roscommon U16s on a fantastic win over Galway on Wednesday evening in the Connacht Championship.

Best of luck to the U 12s who are playing Kilmore in Croghan on Wednesday at 7.30pm.
Best wishes to Roscommon U14 Ladies who play Galway in the Connacht A Final on Sunday in Ballinlough at 4pm. The club is represented on both team and management in Ellis Conway, Emer Burke and Luke O Dowd. Best of luck to all.
A reminder that the annual Poker Classic will take place on Wednesday in Glancy's Lounge at 9.30pm sharp. Raffle and refreshments on the night. Please support.
