Elphin win Scór Quiz

March 23, 2015

The GAA Scór Table Quiz was held in Hannons Hotel Roscommon on Friday night last.

Despite a poor entry from clubs, an excellent evening of questions and answers was had by all. Delivering the questions was Quiz Master Dick Stokes from St. Josephs of Streamstown in Westmeath. A vastly experienced Scór competitor and quiz enthusiast, his task was to find the strongest team from St. Dominic's, Kilglass Gaels, Kilmore and Elphin. After ten rounds of broad ranging questions it was reigning champions Elphin that emerged victorious. The team of Colm Beirne, Mattie Hynes, Mick Rock and Michéal Gunn will now go forward to represent Roscommon in the All Ireland Scór table quiz which will be held on Saturday April 25th in the City West Hotel in Dublin. Coiste Scór Roscomáin would like to thank St. Dominic's, Kilglass Gaels and newcomers Kilmore for the efforts and we wish our ambassadors from Elphin every good luck in the national decider next month.

Connacht Senior Scór final
Best wishes are also extended to all of the Roscommon Senior Scór Champions in this weekend's Connacht final. The provincial decider will take place in St. Brigids Hall Tubbercurry at 6pm on Saturday next March 28th. Representing Roscommon will be: Figure Dancing - Kilglass Gaels, Solo Singing - Sylvia Kilcline (St. Dominic's), Recitation - Seamus Lannon (Kilglass Gaels), Léiriú - Kilglass Gaels, Ballad Group - St. Dominic's, Set Dancing - Elphin, Sean Nós Dancing - Imelda McHugh (Kilglass Gaels). Go n-éirí an t-adh libh.
