Saturday evening last will be remembered for many years to come with our Tulsk Fuels sponsored Intermediate team capturing the O'Gara Cup for the first time since 1996. A drama-filled evening in Athleague saw Tulsk finally emerge with a hard-earned one point win, after extra-time. Tulsk had played well with the wind in the first half to lead by 0-08 to 0-02 at half-time, and led by 0-09 to 0-03 ten minutes into the second half when the lights went out. Oran came back into the game when play resumed and the score read 9 points apiece at the end of normal time. Scores were extremely hard to come by in extra-time and our lads fought hard in tough conditions to claim the narrowest of victories. Final score Tulsk 0-10 Oran 0-09. See match report. Team: R. Fahey, C. Flanagan, K. Donoghue (0-01), D. Donoghue, J. Higgins, D. O'Rourke, R. Galvin, T. O'Rourke (0-02), S. Flanagan, C. O'Rourke (0-03), S. Murray, D. Carleton, S. Donoghue, S. McCormack (0-02), P. Scott (0-01). Subs used: C. Burns, D. Jones, R. Feeney, J. Conlon, J. Cunnane, M. Dufficy, M. Conway (0-01). The club congratulates the players on their great win and thanks them for their hard work all year. The lads can look forward to competing in Division One O'Rourke Cup next year, which all supporters will look forward to over Christmas. A special word of thanks must go to outgoing manager Adrian Donoghue for the time, effort and unwavering commitment that he has put into Tulsk football over the last two years. Adrian has guided the lads to two Intermediate Championship finals, an U-21 Division Two Championship title and now an O'Gara Cup title. The club thanks Adrian sincerely for his efforts and wishes him every success in the future. No doubt he will lead other teams to great achievements. Sincere thanks also to Martin Flynn and Barry Miley for their time and dedication throughout the year.
