St Croan's manager David Casey believes that the fitness of the players has been key to their success.

Last weekend, The Roscommon side captured the Connacht IFC title at the expense of Galway champions Killannin and their strong finish to the game played a big part in the win.

Speaking to the Roscommon Herald, Casey stressed that his first job when he took over the side at the start of the year was to work on their fitness.

"It's one thing I promised when I came in, they were going to be fit," said Casey. "When I took over at the start of the year I wanted to leave Croan's in a better position than when I started with them. That was the goal, and to try and establish them as a senior team. We'll take every victory that comes."
