Croan's face tough task

October 29, 2014

Roscommon intermediate football champions St Croan's face a tough task this weekend when they take on Ballyhaunis in the Connacht club championship.

Home advantage is on St Croan's side though as they host the Mayo champions at Dr Hyde Park, but they will have to be at their best against a side who are full of confidence.

Ballyhaunis not only won their county intermediate football title, but they also were crowned Mayo senior hurling champions.

Last weekend, they defeated Four Roads in the Connacht club IHC semi final and they will not fear travelling to Dr Hyde on Sunday.

Mayo defender and All-Star Keith Higgins is their talisman and St Croan's will have to curtail his influence if they are to get the right result here.

David Casey and his selectors have worked wonders with the side this year and St Croan's won't be lacking in the determination stakes.
