Michael Glavey's begin their Connacht club JFC campaign this weekend when they take on Mayo champions Achill Island at MacHale Park, Castlebar on Sunday.

The Roscommon side go into the match as slight favourites as Achill Island did not win their county title, having lost to Castlebar Mitchels, but as they are their club's second team, Achill have the responsibility of representing their county in the provincial campaign.

In saying that Achill have made huge strides in recent years and it just remains to be seen how they will approach this competition.

There is no doubt that Michael Glavey's will be keen to impress on the provincial stage and they should have enough fire power to get them over the line.
