Congratulations to the girl's u14 team who defeated St Barry's in Strokestown last Saturday to win the division 2a county championship. This was a superb team performance with some wonderful displays of football all over the pitch. Final score on the day Castlerea St Kevin's 1-8 St Barry's 1-4. Well done to the management team Tommy Finan, Ann O Rourke, Margaret Diggins and physio Madeline Henry. Thanks to all the girls and their parents for their commitment during the year. Commiserations to the boy's u12 team who were defeated by Padraig Pearse in the league final last Sunday. Thanks to Mike Callaghan, Sean Costello, the boys and their parents for the huge effort they put in during the year. The senior team play Fuerty in their final O'Gara Cup game next Monday evening in Mulhern Park Fuerty. The u21 team play Western Gael's next Sunday in round one of the championship. The junior team play Clan Na nGael in a Tansey Cup relegation semi final, date and venue to be decided. Our Gaelic for mothers were involved in the all Ireland blitz in Dublin last weekend, they played teams from Dublin, Derry, Laois and Westmeath. Best of luck to Gareth Scahill and Nicola Ward on their wedding day next Saturday, may the have a long happy life together. We extend our sympathy to Harry Connolly and family Church Hill on the death of Harry's brother Sean in Galway last week, may he rest in peace. There was no winner of the lotto jackpot of €7,700 on Friday 17th October. Numbers drawn on the night were 3, 13, 18 and 22. €50 winners on the night were Katie Sherdian, Catherine Cornwall, The Sweeney Family and Ann Goulding. Next week's jackpot is €7,800 and the draw takes place in Caulfield's on Friday 24th October. Tickets on sale in shops and pubs in town or any club official at €2 per panel or three panels for €5.
