Curley plays down favourites' tag

Four Roads captain Shane Curley is at odds to point out that the side is not as experienced as many think.

Despite winning the last six consecutive county titles, Curley stressed to the Roscommon Herald that there are a lot of young players on the team and that it has changed dramatically over the last few years.

On Sunday, they face old rivals Athleague and Curley feels that their opponents are probably more experienced at this level.

"People are saying that we're going for a seven-in-a-row but we're doing so with basically a different team. We've a lot of young players and have fielded players in different positions every day we've gone out," stated Curley.

"Some might say that we're the most experienced team going into the final, but we're very young. A huge proportion of the team is under-21. Maybe they've played in a handful of finals.

"But Athleague have a huge amount of experience right around the field. A lot of them featured for Fuerty in the All-Ireland final last year."
