Bannon seeks improved performance

October 08, 2014

Athleague' Tom Bannon is adamant that they must produce their best performance of the year so far, if they are to win Sunday's County SHC final.

A clash against old rivals and seven title chasing Four Roads is on the cards for Athleague and Bannon told the Roscommon Herald that they must play better than they have been all year.

"The performance against Oran was patchy," said Bannon. "We didn't play to our best. The two goals won the game for us, although we did play better in the second half.

He added: "Four Roads are a fine team and their record speaks for itself. Looking at their semi final, Pearses asked them a lot of questions. If we can do the same, maybe we'll get over the line. We'll need to have all guns blazing to beat them and stop their record. It would be nice for us to get one back for ourselves."
