St. Brigid's remain firmly on course for a five-in-a-row of Roscommon SFC titles after Senan Kilbride's hat-trick of goals helped them to a 3-8 to 1-7 quarter-final victory over local rivals Clann na nGael last night.
The county star got the ball rolling with a first half goal. Frankie Dolan and former Garrycastle and Westmeath forward Paddy Mulvihill also had points as the Kiltoom side took a 1-5 to 0-2 lead into the break.
Clann were made pay for some wasteful finishing in the opening half when Kilbride completed his hat-trick after the restart to make it 3-7 to 0-5. Clann netted late on, but it was a mere consolation score.
In last night's other quarter-final at Kiltoom, St. Faithleach's and Roscommon Gaels fought out a thrilling 1-12 to 2-9 draw.
An own goal by Faithleach's gave the Gaels a one-point lead with a minute remaining, only for Brian Murtagh to kick the equaliser with the last kick of the game.
