St Aidans club notes

September 01, 2014

Senior:

Hard luck to our senior team who were beaten by Kilmore in the relagation play-off on Saturday evening last, The lads performed well but just could not get the scores they needed. They now play Elphin in a final relegation playoff.

Junior:

Our Junior team were beaten by the narrowest of margins on Sunday in Knockcroghery. The lads were 8 points down at half time and were unlucky not to come away with a win. They have qualified for the Junior B quarter finals.

Underage:

Our U8's and U10's had a wonderful end to their season with an all county blitz held on Saturday last at the Connacht GAA Centre at Ballyhaunis. This was a very well organised event with every club in the county was represented. Each of our teams played 3 games on the day and were presented with medals afterward. Thank you to all of the parents who came along on the day it really was most enjoyable. The club would like to thank Willie Hegarty and all of the coaches for their work in providing a summer of action packed football. Well done to this bunch of future stars we really had a great season and a big thanks to all of the parents and everyone who helped in any way all summer.

Well done to our U16 panel that came away from cootehall with a hard fought draw last sunday, a result which should see them into a county semi-final.

Deepest sympathies

The club lost a good friend during the week in Pat Barrett. We would like to offer our deepest sympathies to the Barrett family. Ar dheis de go raibh a anam dilis.
