Underage:

Glancys Supervalu sponsored Kilmore/Shannon Gaels U16s play Strokestown in the Division 2 championship semi final on Wednesday next. Text will be sent to members as regards time and venue. Our U8s enjoyed a great day at the County Blitz in the Connacht Centre of Excellence on Saturday last.

Mens:

Junior team came out victors against St. Brigids last Sunday by 1-7 to 1-5. They are now through to the Junior semi final possibly the weekend of the 13/14 September.  NIall Leydon  sustained an injury in the game and we wish him a speedy recovery.

General Meeting:

There will be a general meeting of the club on Thursday evening 4th September at 9pm in Pairc na Gael. All members welcome.

Ladies:

Minor ladies have qualified for the Division1 championship final having defeated St Brigid's in the semi final in Croghan on Friday evening. The girls were in control from the get go and a clinically finished goal from full forward Ciara Dowd mid way through the first half gave them a five point lead that they never relinquished. Final score Shannon Gaels 1-9, St Brigids 0-6. Team - Aisling Egan, Sarah Surlis, Rachel Mc Dermott, Caoimhe O Dowd, Connie Doyle, Elaine Mc Dermott, Catherine Flynn, Christina Beirne (0-1), Tess Murtagh, Emer Matthews, Katie Daly (0-4), Ruth Flynn, Ciara Dowd (1-0), Aine O Dowd (0-3), Emma O Beirne, Niamh Murray,  Mairead O Dowd (0-1), Viola Boe.

They will play Clann Na Gael or St Ciarans in the final at a date to be fixed. Good luck to Fergus, Philippa, Martina and the girls.

Our U 14 girls had a very successful start to their championship campaign with two wins during the week. On Monday evening they travelled to Ballinlough for their opening game V Michael Glaveys, the girls put in a skilful performance and came away with a win. On Sunday evening they had a comprehensive victory over Eire Og in Croghan. Team: Zoe O Callaghan, Chloe O Dowd, Hannah O Dowd , Eimear Feely, Aisling Cryan, Shauna Murtagh, Orla Mullaney, Ellis Conway, Sheona Devaney, Kaitlin Surlis, Emer Burke, Ellen Collins, Lisa Burke, Orla O Dowd, Ailbhe Cryan, Gemma Hickey, Sophie O Dowd, Mary Collins, Alicia Cassidy, Sarah Lynch.
On Wednesday evening they travel to Ardcarne Park to play St Michaels at 7pm. Good luck to Alan, Linda and the girls.


On Saturday our U 16 girls travel to Quilty in Co. Clare to represent Roscommon in the Kilmurry Ibrickane All Ireland Ladies U16 Club 7's . The bus will leave Croghan at 6am. Best of luck to Fergus, Philippa, Clodagh and the girls.

Finally, the club wishes Kieran Kilkenny, Sorcha Bruen, Niamh O'Beirne and the Roscommon Ladies the very best of luck as they play Fermanagh in the All-Ireland Semi-Final on Saturday in Pearse Park, Longford. Throw in at 1.45.
