Confident Rosses ready for championship

March 15, 2019

Ciaran Comerford remains as Roscommon senior hurling manager for 2019.

Roscommon manager Cíaran Comerford feels that their HL3A success can be the catalyst for them to do well in the championship.

The Rossies will face into the Christy Ring Cup full of confidence following their league final win over Armagh at Pairc Tailteann, Navan last Sunday.

They face tough competition in the championship as the majority of the teams in it are competing at a higher level in the league.

However, Comerford told the Roscommon Herald that it will be a tough campaign, but added they were hoping to make their mark.

“It has been a goal, but the players have worked tremendously hard together and on their own,” said Comerford.

“It’s what they deserve. The lads are seeing that the work they’re putting in is coming to fruition. We’ve an unbelievably tough task ahead of us but we’re by no means disillusioned.

“We couldn’t have asked for a better league campaign and we’re in good shape heading into the championship.”
