Armagh are through to the Division 3A final despite suffering a 3-16 to 1-16 defeat to neighbours Tyrone at Omagh.

Danny McGee hit the goal for Armagh, who finished with 13 men, while Damien Casey, Matthew Mulgrew and Bryan McGurk netted for Tyrone.

That victory drew the Red Hands level with the Orchard County on the final table, on six points apiece, and Tyrone would have earned a final meeting with Roscommon next weekend on the head-to-head rule but for Monaghan’s narrow 1-11 to 1-10 victory over Louth at Darver.

David Stephenson netted in the seventh minute for the Wee County, who led by 1-2 to no score, but Tadhg Campbell’s 52nd-minute goal offered the visitors a lifeline and Mark Treanor won it for them in added time.

The Farney County’s win meant that three teams finished on six points and score difference was used to separate them, Armagh progressing by virtue of a +27 return.

The Rossies were already guaranteed a final place prior to their last-round meeting with bottom side Lancashire at Abbottstown today. They fielded a shadow side and were duly beaten, 2-13 to 1-6, by the Exiles, who will still be relegated.

Top two Sligo and Longford, both with 100% records going into the last round and already assured to meet in the Division 3B final next weekend, came face to face in a dead-rubber dress rehearsal at Pearse Park and the hosts opted to give nothing away, careering to a heavy 3-15 to 0-3 defeat.

Fermanagh finish their campaign in third place, having beaten neighbours Cavan by 1-13 to 0-6 at Lisbellaw.
