New Roscommon recruit Conor Cox came in for special praise from his manager Anthony Cunningham following today’s Division 1 win over Monaghan.

The former Kerry player marked his debut in the primrose and blue jersey with five converted five frees.

His individual return included a vital long-range injury-time free in his team’s 1-12 to 0-13 win over the Farney County.

"We’re delighted to have Conor and that was a tremendous score at the end under that kind of pressure to slot that,” Cunningham remarked to RTE Sport.

“We’ll want him any day because games are going to be very tight and you’ve got to be able to win in tight situations.”
