Conor Cox has had to transfer back to his home club Listowel Emmets in order to play for Roscommon.

The former Kerry player recently transferred to Eire Og, which is the home club of his father Martin, in Roscommon. However, the Irish Independent is reporting that to be eligible to play for Roscommon, the forward would have had to have played a championship game with Eire Og first. With the Roscommon SFC not due to start until the summer, he would not have been able to play for the Rossies until then.

On learning of this, Cox then bizarrely sought a transfer to St Jude's in Dublin before deciding to rejoin Listowel Emmets.
