Scor na bPaisti Quiz

Roscommon Gaels entered a team in the Scor na bPaisti Table Quiz held in Kilbride Community Centre on Sunday, 5th December.  Ably represented by Aaron Dolan, Ethan Hussey, Gillian Greene and Gerald Greene, our club faced stiff competition from 20 primary schools/clubs around the county.  At the end of the final round, with a scoreline of 28/32, we were in joint first position with Aughrim NS.  We were unlucky to lose the tie-breaker by one point.  We are incredibly proud of this achievement - the first time our club fielded a team in this quiz.  Congratulations to all.

Scór na nÓg

Dean Crowe theatre Athlone was the venue for the County Scór na nÓg final which took place on Sunday, 9th December.  Roscommon Gaels was represented by Jane King in Solo Singing.  She sang 'Siúil A Rún' beautifully.  While she wasn't victorious, we can be sure to hear a lot more of Jane in future.  Maith thú a Shinéad!

*Underage Presentation Night*
Roscommon Gaels underage awards night for our underage teams will take place on Friday 14th of December at 7pm at The Hyde Centre.  There will be a presentation of medals to our U12, U14 and U16 teams that won their respective county finals.  Also on the night we will present most improved player awards for each of the above age group’s.  This year we are delighted to announce that the teams will be presented with their medals by Dublin All Star James McCarthy.  Tea, Coffee and refreshments will be served.  It promises to be a wonderful evening so we hope you can make it on the night.

On Sunday 16th December at 3.30pm at the Hyde Centre we will have a presentation of medals to our U8’s and U10’s.   And, of course, Santa Claus will make a special visit.  Its a day not to be missed and admission is free.

DON’T FORGET TO SHOP LOCAL THIS CHRISTMAS

The Christmas period is a crucial time for businesses.  Please try where you can to support your local businesses and shop local.  We would like to thank all who have contributed during the year to our club.  It is your help that keeps the club going so strong.  We received generous financial support for our Development Launch and and we would encourage you all to support our sponsors.   These sponsors provide employment; they give back to the community,   from sponsoring teams, sponsoring our fundraising efforts and we appreciate their ongoing support.  They offer personalised customer service you can’t get online. They are run by your family members, friends, neighbours and most importantly our members.  Before you make that purchase, ask yourself "could I buy locally from a small business and if the answer is YES then why not invest in your local community?
