COACHING NEWS  (WK 48 2018) 

 

Football Coaching Workshop : " Transitional play in Gaelic Football" 

Thank You to Roscommon Gaels coaches who attended the excellent workshop in the Hyde last Friday given by Steven Poacher.   

 

Feile Meeting

Connacht GAA will be holding a registration and information evening for all GAA and LGFA sides who have already signed up or are interested in partaking in Feile Peil na NOg 2019 being hosted by Connacht GAA throughout the Province on the weekend of June 28/29/30th 2019/

The information evening will take place at the Connacht GAA Centre on Monday 26th November at 7.30 p.m. Clubs who are attending are asked to bring back completed registration forms plus entry fees and are welcome to enquire about any matters that concern them regarding hosting or playing in Feile Peil 2018. 

 

Award 1 Hurling Course

Roscommon Coach  Education  will hold an Award One Hurling course for all club coaches on Friday December 7th, Saturday  December 8th  and Saturday December 15th. We are asking all clubs to submit the names of their coaches who wish to avail of the course to Proinsias Killion Hurling GPO no later than Friday November 30th. 

 

The course will take place in Knockcroghery NS and adjacent Astro pitch 

 

On-Line Football Foundation Course

Roscommon Coach Education  on-line Football Foundation Course will open on Wednesday November 21st for registration until Wednesday December 12th for all on-line modules to be completed, with a  date for all practical assessment TBC. We are urging all GAA coaches interested in coaching  to register by contacting course coordinator  Oliver Lennon for all the details [email protected]  

 

National Coaching & Games Development Conference

The GAA Games Development Conference will take place on Friday, January 11th and Saturday, January 12th in Croke Park. The Conference programme is currently being finalised, with information available from https://learning.gaa.ie/conference2019 and @gaalearning

Scór na nÓg.

Roscommon Gaels was proudly represented at the Scór na nÓg qualifier held in Ballinaheglish Community Centre on Saturday, November 24th. We had Jane King in the Solo Singing competition who then teamed up with Isabelle Sexton and Lile Mc Caffery for the Ballad Group competition. We are delighted with their performances. Congratulations to Jane King who goes forward to represent Roscommon Gaels in the County Final in the Dean Crowe Centre, Athlone on Sunday, 8th December. Maith sibh a chailiní.
