Intermediate championship 

Well done to our King and Moffat sponsored intermediate team who defeated Éire Og on Sunday last in Kilglass in the intermediate championship quarter final after extra time. Well done to the players and management. All roads now lead to Dr Hyde Park this Saturday as we face Fuerty at 3pm in the Chanpionship Semi Final. We would ask everyone to please come out on Saturday and support the team. 

 

Junior championship 

Our junior team are in championship action this Friday evening as we face Boyle at 8.30pm in the junior B championship Quarter final. 

 

Ladies 

The Minor Ladies put in a superb team performance to beat St. Barry's in the Minor Championship on Friday evening. A massive thank you to the 19 players on the panel who have won our first Minor Ladies Championship.  To the parents and management thanks for all the work they put into the year.  Unfortunately  our Junior Ladies were defeated by a goal in their quarter final against Eire Og. Despite this set back the Ladies topped Junior B and have gained promotion to Junior A for next year. Thanks to the players and management for their work and effort in securing promotion for 2019.

 

Underage 

Our under 10’s  play in the Shane Kelly cup in strokestown next Saturday. FRS sponsored U12 Team were defeated by St Michaels in the last game of the summer league. The team , coaches and parents had a wonderful day out in Croke park where we played threeBlitz games. Thanks to Brian Carroll, Donal Carroll, John & Nicola Craughwell and Trevor Hunt for organising everything. Our Taylor Cleaning sponsored U14 Team were defeated by strokestown in the semi-final of the Garda cup . Thanks to the players the coaches and the parents for all their efforts  at this age group in 2018. We won the division two league and we were very competitive in the Division I championship. Our Masonite Sponsored minor team play  St Dominic‘s in the Division II championship semi-final next Sunday at 2:30 PM in Knockcrockery. 

 

Health Challenge 

Our 6 week health challenge gets underway this Tuesday evening the 25th of September at 7pm in the Community Centre Dangan with the first weigh in and talk. Walks etc will also be organised. It’s super value costing just €40 in total for the 7 weigh ins or €7 per evening. 

 

Other news 

Well done to Christy Gannon who won our 50/50 jackpot of €471. Our €25 winners were Michael Finneran (london), Jp O Dowd, Michael & Martina Mchugh and Aine Caslin. Thanks to Mervyn foley and his team of sellers. Next on selling duty is Pamela Mcgaurans team.
