Dublin ladies football manager Mick Bohan is believed to be in the running for the vacant Roscommon senior job.

The Rossies are on the lookout for a new manager following the decision of Kevin McStay to step down from the position two weeks ago.

Bohan is a surprise name to be linked to the role, after he guided the Dublin ladies to a second successive All-Ireland title following last Sunday’s win over Cork.

Bohan was part of the DCU management team that won three Sigerson Cups between 2006 and 2012, while he was part of Jim Gavin’s backroom team when they won the All-Ireland under-21 title in 2012.

Gavin brought Bohan with him when he was appointed senior manager, but in 2015, he coached the Clare senior footballers, before taking over as Dublin ladies boss.

Other names being linked to the position include former Sligo manager Niall Carew, ex-Mayo boss Stephen Rochford and former Roscommon footballer Nigel Dineen.
