Division 2 Football League

Daingean 2-11 Walsh Island 5-10

Daingean made the short trip to Walsh Island last Saturday afternoon for their first outing in this years division 2 league campaign. Daingean talisman Jamie Hayes was amongst the scorers in an opening half which disappointingly saw Daingean concede 3 goals and left them with an uphill task for the second half. Tommy Cocoman epitomised Daingean's fighting spirit throughout and Daingean registered two goals of their own in the second half through Conleth Carey and Charlie Hayes A losing margin of 8 points may have been a bit harsh on Daingean whereas a scoreline of 15 scores to 13 would be a fairer reflection on the balance of play throughout.
