Co-managers one minute, rivals the next

Offaly greats Michael Duignan and Daithi Regan will aim to guide Ballinamere/Durrow to their first county MHC title at O'Connor Park tomorrow.

Ballinamere/Durrow take on Kilcormac/Killoughey in what will be the curtain-raiser to the Offaly SHC decider between St. Rynagh's and Birr. Duignan has been living in Durrow for many years with his sons Sean and Brian being among the key players on their minor team. The sides have already met twice this year and, intriguingly, have one win apiece.

Once the minor final is over, however, the joint-managers will be rivals. RTE pundit Duignan was part of the last St. Rynagh's team to lift the Sean Robbins Cup in 1993, while Regan enjoyed a hugely successful playing career with Birr, winning a stackful of county, provincial and All-Ireland medals. So no prizes for guessing who they'll be cheering for!
